Casa de Poderosas

We built the room we wished we’d always had.

A Mujeres Retreat founded by three Latinas who got tired of carrying it all alone — and decided to build a table where nobody has to.

From the three of us

Why This Retreat Exists

Between the three of us, we run a career consultancy, a small hospitality business, and a leadership coaching practice — three different worlds, with the same quiet habit at the center: we are always the first ones to jump in.

Someone needs a favor, we do the favor. Someone needs an intro, we make it. Someone is drowning, we show up with a plan. We do it without being asked, and we do it without expecting anything back, because that is what we know how to do.

What none of us are as good at is asking. We carry what we’re carrying quietly, individually, until “I’m fine” becomes the only sentence we know how to say to each other.

So this retreat isn’t about our work. It isn’t advice from the front of a room. We didn’t build Casa de Poderosas to keep doing what we already do every day for our clients — we built it so we could finally do the other half: ask for help, out loud, in front of people who understand exactly what it costs us to ask.

That’s what la mesa actually is. Not a circle of women watching one get coached. Every woman at the table, taking her turn being the one who receives — tools, perspective, a different way to see the exact thing she’s been carrying by herself.

“The first time we ran this, it was my turn in the circle, and I was so sure I had it together that I hadn’t noticed I didn’t — I’d convinced myself the wall I was holding up was protecting me, when really, it was just me refusing to admit how burned out I was. Then I looked around and saw it on their faces before I could say it myself. When I finally let go, they caught me — not with fixing, but with so much love and care that the wall finally came down. I was safe enough to stop being fine.”
Cinthia Manuel, Co-Founder

If you know how to help everyone except yourself — if you’re the one people call, and rarely the one who calls — hermana, esta mesa has a seat for you. Come ready to receive as much as you give.

Vamos con todo.

Three businesses, three lived experiences, one belief: our combined tools, access, and perspective are worth more shared than carried alone.

Cinthia Manuel

CEO & Founder, Autentica Consulting — Leadership Development & Coaching

I know how to show up for everyone else. This retreat is where I finally practice letting people show up for me.
Her story

A proud daughter of immigrants and an immigrant herself from Mexico City, Cinthia is an older daughter who learned to carry everyone else's weight before she ever learned to ask for help. She's the founder of a leadership development consultancy where executive coaching is a core part of the work — in her seventh year leading Autentica Consulting, she's coached 85+ leaders one-on-one in English and Spanish. She's also the co-founder of Constructing Autenticidad, a leadership program for Black, Brown, and Indigenous leaders. A TEDx speaker and mentor to women of color, she's spoken from stages including the Obama Presidential Center and the Gates Millennium Scholars Program. She holds an MBA from George Fox University and a Strategic Diversity and Inclusion Management certification from Georgetown University.

Alondra Canizal Hsu

Founder, Soluna Career Consulting

Who you are is not something to overcome on the way to success. It's the foundation of it. I wanted a room built on that belief.
Her story

An immigrant from Mexico, Alondra is a career strategist and educator whose practice is built on one belief: identity is the foundation of professional success, not an obstacle to it. With graduate degrees from Harvard University and Oregon State University, she coaches BIPOC, immigrant, and first-generation professionals through job search strategy, negotiation, and leadership development, turning real-world strategy into frameworks people can use immediately.

Verenice León-Hurtado

Mortgage Loan Advisor & Co-Founder, Cafecito Properties

My abuelos' home taught me what safety looks like — a roof stretched to hold everyone who needed it. This retreat is that same instinct, just finally turned toward the women who spend their lives holding everyone else.
Her story

An immigrant from Michoacán, Mexico, Verenice's earliest memory in the United States is her abuelos' home, where fifteen family members across three generations shared one roof — more than a house, a place of love and stability during a transformative chapter in her family's journey. That understanding of what a home can hold has shaped her whole career: with more than a decade in mortgage and community lending, she's dedicated herself to helping families navigate homeownership and build informed paths to their financial futures. Through Cafecito Properties, she's built a mission-driven real estate portfolio rooted in housing, hospitality, and generational wealth — proof of her belief that owning property can be a force for good, building wealth for her own family while creating opportunity for others.
